STONE SOUR: 'Absolute Zero' Video Released
November 14, 2012"Absolute Zero", the new video from STONE SOUR, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's new album, "House of Gold & Bones - Part 1", which sold 31,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 7 on The Billboard 200 chart.
"'Absolute Zero' is the anti-hero anthem of 'House of Gold & Bones - Part 1'," STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor tells RollingStone.com. "It essentially lets you know that the hero isn't perfect, but he will do whatever is necessary. The video is loosely based on the fact that in the short story, the hero ends up in a very strange world and he has to figure out what's going on and what he'll do."
"House of Gold & Bones" is being made available as a double album and a four-issue comic book.
Like the story, the "House Of Gold & Bones" album package comes in two parts. When the two pieces meet, they combine to create the "House Of Gold & Bones".
"House of Gold & Bones - Part 1" track listing:
01. Gone Sovereign
02. Absolute Zero
03. A Rumor Of Skin
04. The Travellers Part 1
05. Tired
06. RU486
07. My Name Is Allen
08. Taciturn
09. Influence Of A Drowsy God
10. The Travellers Part 2
11. Last Of The Real
"House of Gold & Bones - Part 2" is due in 2013.
Taylor recently told Artisan News that he would like to see the band's new conceptual record be adapted as a movie as well. He said, "Once we've toured and we've got the music out to everyone, the thing I really wanna do is have two movies — Part 1 and Part 2. With the comic and the story and the music, I think we'll be able to do it. I already know who I wanna talk to about doing it, so we'll see what happens."
Taylor did not say who he would like to direct the movie, or if it would be produced through Living, Breathing Films, the production company he and SLIPKNOT percussionist Clown launched earlier this year.
He told The Pulse Of Radio at the time why he and Clown decided to get into the movie business. "It's something that we're very passionate about, you know," he said. "We have the same passion for film as we do for music and it's really just our way of kind of, you know, learning the business and once we learn a little more, you know, we get a few projects under our belt and we're gonna start accepting scripts and developing our own scripts, and I think it's gonna be something that's really cool."
The comic book version of "House Of Gold & Bones" will debut on April 17, 2013. The four-issue series will be published by Dark Horse Comics and will visualize the sci-fi short story that forms the basis of the albums.
